My husband, who has been held in jail for over a year now, was recently convicted and is serving a life sentence for trading and possession of illegal drugs and is being held at the Dubai Central Jail.
It's so cruel of them to just sentence someone to spend the rest of his life in the cell when they don't have enough evidence. We hired a lawyer but he just took the money and did nothing.
We have met and discussed his situation at length with the representatives of our Embassy and unfortunately for us, they do not wish to interfere with the Judicial System of another country.
Our efforts to have our government help intervene on our behalf in seeking fair
judgment for their fellow citizens, has sadly gone in vain.
